Choosing your lawn
We supply buffalo, kikuyu and couch turf. The right choice depends on sunlight, how you use the area and how much upkeep you’re happy to do.
Buffalo
Buffalo has a broad leaf and is worth considering where the yard gets some shade. It still needs adequate sunlight. We’ll talk through the conditions on your block before recommending a variety.
Kikuyu
Kikuyu suits sunny spaces and can be a practical option for an active yard. Allow for regular maintenance and edging, especially where the lawn meets garden beds.
Couch
Couch is another option for a sunny lawn. It’s worth comparing with buffalo and kikuyu if you have a particular lawn finish in mind. The variety, growing conditions and maintenance all influence the result.

Plan the ground and watering before the turf arrives
Uneven ground, unsuitable soil and patchy watering are easier to address before a new lawn goes down. We’ll discuss the preparation needed and how the lawn will meet paths, garden beds and other finished surfaces.
If you have existing reticulation, mention it in your enquiry. If you’re changing the lawn’s shape or size, the watering layout needs consideration too. For a larger yard upgrade, we can include the lawn within a complete landscaping project.
How a lawn installation comes together
1. Tell us about the space
Send your location, approximate lawn area and a short description of what’s there now. Photos are helpful, particularly if access is narrow or there’s old lawn to remove.
2. Agree on the preparation and turf
We’ll discuss the site, turf options and watering needs, then set out the proposed work in your quote.
3. Prepare and install
The agreed preparation comes first, followed by turf laying, trimming, rolling and finishing around the edges.
4. Help the lawn establish
We’ll provide care advice for your new lawn. Keep watering, foot traffic and the first mow in mind while the roots establish.
What affects the price?
The size of the lawn is one part of the cost. Removing old turf, improving the soil, changing levels and moving materials through a tight side gate can also affect the work involved. Turf choice and any reticulation work need to be allowed for as well.

Can you replace an existing lawn?
Yes. We can remove an existing lawn and prepare the area for new turf. Let us know what you’d like to improve, such as the lawn’s condition, shape or layout, so the quote covers the preparation needed.
Can you install lawn and reticulation together?
Yes. We offer both services and can discuss them as one project. Planning the watering layout before the turf is installed helps coordinate the work.
When can I walk on my new lawn?
New turf needs time to root into the soil. The weather, turf variety and growing conditions affect how quickly that happens. Follow the aftercare advice for your installation rather than relying on a fixed number of days.
Can I water a new lawn outside my normal watering days?
Check the requirements for your property before doing so. An approved establishment exemption may be needed. Use the guidance for your supplier: Busselton Water, Aqwest or Water Corporation. An exemption doesn’t make the extra water free.
Do you install lawn in Bunbury?
