A path that fits the way you use your yard
A garden path might lead visitors to the front door, make side access more useful or connect the house with a place to sit. Its route, width and surface should suit the people using it and the garden around it.
We’re based in Busselton and work in Dunsborough and across the South West. We also welcome pathway enquiries from Bunbury. Tell us where you need to get to and what you’d like the finished path to look like.
Gravel or stone pavers?
Gravel pathways
Gravel brings a different texture to the garden and can suit a route between planting areas or around the yard. The gravel choice, preparation and edges all help determine the finished look and how the path will be used.
Think about what needs to travel along it. A path used for an occasional walk through the garden has different needs from a route used regularly with bins or a wheelbarrow. We’ll discuss that before settling on a surface.
Stone paver pathways
Stone pavers can create a more defined walkway through the landscape. Their size, colour and arrangement influence how the path sits beside the house, lawn and garden beds.
Bring any reference photos you like, or tell us about the existing finishes you want to work with. Material options and availability can be confirmed as part of the quote.
Plan the route before choosing the finish
A few practical details help shape the pathway:
Where it starts and ends
How often it will be used and what needs to pass along it
The space available beside gates, doors and garden beds
Existing levels and any areas where water collects
How the path will meet lawn and other surfaces
Any reticulation or planned garden changes along the route
Tell us if the path needs to suit particular mobility or access needs. Those requirements should be considered from the beginning.
If you’re changing more of the yard, we can consider pathways within a complete landscaping project. Planning reticulation at the same time also helps account for pipe routes before the finished path is in place.
How we approach your pathway
1. Share the space
Send Tom your location, approximate path length and width, and a few photos showing the full route. Include anything you want to keep, such as established planting or existing edging.
2. Discuss the layout and materials
We’ll talk through the intended use, surface options, site preparation and access. If you already have a landscape plan, send it through with your enquiry.
3. Confirm the work
Your quote will set out the agreed pathway and preparation. Confirm the materials, edges and connections to surrounding areas before installation begins.
4. Prepare and install
The agreed ground preparation comes first, followed by the pathway surface and finishing around its edges. Timing depends on the site and the work involved.
What affects a pathway quote?
Length and width are useful starting points. The surface material, ground preparation, existing levels and edging also influence the amount of work. Removing an old surface or moving materials through limited access can affect the quote.
Send rough measurements and photos to help explain your project. We provide free, no-obligation quotes for the proposed work.
Tell Tom where your path needs to go
Use the enquiry form to share your location and the route you have in mind. Mention any photos or plans you can provide.
Can you install a path through an existing garden?
Tell us about the space and what you want to retain. Existing plants, irrigation, surfaces and access all need to be considered when discussing the route and preparation.
Do I need to choose the material first?
No. Start with where the path needs to go, how you’ll use it and the look you prefer. We can discuss gravel and stone paver options from there.
Can the path be part of a larger yard upgrade?
Yes. Pathways can be planned alongside garden beds, lawn and other outdoor areas within a landscaping project. The quote will identify the elements included.
Do you take on pathways in Bunbury?
We welcome Bunbury enquiries. Include your suburb, approximate dimensions and photos so we can discuss the project. See our Bunbury landscaping services.
