Finishing touches with a practical purpose
A fire pit area gives people a place to sit together outdoors. Steel edging defines where one part of the garden meets another. Both work best when their shape, position and materials fit the rest of the yard.
We’re based in Busselton, serving Dunsborough and the South West, and welcome enquiries from Bunbury. Tell Tom whether you’re planning a fire pit area, garden edging or a project that includes both.
Custom fire pit areas
Start with the whole space
Think about how many people you’d like to seat, how they’ll reach the area and how it will connect with the house and garden. Photos that show nearby planting, buildings and outdoor furniture are more useful than a close-up of the proposed fire pit location alone.
We can discuss the fire pit and the surrounding landscape together. Decorative stone surfaces and steel edging are options to consider when shaping the area. Your quote will identify the agreed materials and work.
Allow for the details around it
The surrounding surface, room for seating and a clear route through the garden all deserve attention. If you have a particular fire pit in mind, include a photo or product details so its suitability can be discussed before the layout is settled.
Fire pit use is subject to current restrictions. Check your local government’s rules and DFES Total Fire Ban guidance before lighting a fire. A backyard fire pit cannot be used during a Total Fire Ban.
Steel edging for your garden
Define beds, paths and lawn edges
Steel edging gives the boundary between surfaces a consistent line. It can help define a garden bed, finish the side of a gravel path or outline an outdoor seating area.
The layout should take account of the surfaces on either side and their finished levels. Send photos of the existing edges and tell us which boundaries you’d like to change.
Choose the shape with the garden in mind
The edging can be considered alongside the path route, bed shape and open space you want to keep. If you have a preferred profile or appearance, share a reference so we can confirm suitable options for the project.
For a wider change, we can bring edging and fire pit areas into a complete landscape construction project. This helps coordinate the individual elements before work begins.
From your idea to installation
1. Send the details
Start with your location, photos and a short description. For edging, approximate lengths help. For a fire pit area, show the space available and tell us how you’d like to use it.
2. Discuss the scope
We’ll talk through the proposed layout, materials, access and preparation. This is the time to identify any existing features you want to keep and how the new work will meet them.
3. Agree on the work
The quote will set out what’s included. Once the scope is agreed, we’ll discuss timing and the sequence of preparation, installation and finishing.
What affects the cost?
For edging, the length, layout, material specification and ground conditions influence the work involved. For a fire pit area, the overall size, selected features and surrounding surface also matter.
Access and removal of existing materials can affect either project. We provide free, no-obligation quotes based on the proposed work rather than a single price for every garden.
Talk to Tom about your outdoor space
Use the enquiry form to describe the area, your location and what you’d like to change. Let Tom know if you have photos or a plan to share.
Can I enquire about steel edging on its own?
Yes. Tell Tom which parts of the garden need edging and include approximate lengths and photos. Your enquiry can focus on edging, a fire pit area or both.
Can a fire pit area fit into an existing backyard?
Send photos showing the full space. The available area, surrounding features, access and requirements for the proposed fire pit all need consideration before agreeing on a layout.
Can steel edging be included with new pathways?
Yes. The path surface and edging can be discussed together. Explore our custom gravel and stone paver pathways.
